Transcendence Project

The Transcendence Guelph-Wellington: 2SLGBTQIA+ Education, Empowerment Training, and Resources Project aims to develop and test pilot educational workshops. Workshops will be free to service providers and queer community members within Guelph-Wellington. The project will also develop and distribute educational resources about 2SLGBTQIA+ services, events, and the queer history of the region

Project Goals

Educational Workshops

This project aims to develop and pilot educational workshops for service providers and 2SLGBTQIA+ community members.

01. We will offer free workshops across multiple service sectors, addressing the oppression and barriers that 2SLGBTQIA+ people face, while also focusing on expanding service accessibility.

02. Additionally, we will offer educational workshops for queer people and their families on how to navigate societal systems more effectively, and advocate for themselves when facing oppressive barriers.

Resource Development

This project aims to create and maintain resources outlining queer services and programs in the Guelph-Wellington region.

01. Our resource hub will include an events calendar, physical resources at our library and a service provider directory.

02. We will also be developing educational resources for our programming. These resources will continue to be used in community after this project is completed.

2SLGBTQIA+ Histories

This project also aims to map out the histories of the 2SLGBTQIA+ movement and it’s community members, focusing on the Guelph-Wellington Region.

01. We will create digital and physical resources sharing these histories. By sharing these stories, we hope to contribute to increasing the visibility and accessibility of queer histories.
