Queer Podcasts

Our library volunteers have curated a collection of podcasts with queer creators, topics, and/or representation. We provide representation notes and content warnings as best we can. Please send suggestions, questions, or comments to library@outontheshelf.com.

  • Making Gay HistoryBringing the voices of queer history to life through intimate conversations with LGBTQ champions, heroes and witnesses to history.
  • History is GayHistory is Gay is a podcast that examines the underappreciated and overlooked queer ladies, gents, and gentle-enbies that have always been there in the unexplored corners of history. Because history has never been as straight as you think.

  • Making Queer HistoryWhile every article and podcast episode begins with the sharing of knowledge about queer people/events throughout history, most of them end by bringing it back to the now. Because we are working not only to teach people about our history but to bring that history into terms relevant to the present in a segment fondly referred to as “the moral of the story”. Whether we talk about intersectionality, the revolution in just being happy, or reacting to global events, we always work to make the history relevant to your day-to-day life.
  • The Queer History Podcast*** A podcast about the often forgotten and erased queer history. Because we've always been here.
  • Always Here***
  • The Gay Files
  • Vintage Lesbians
